BRITISH COUNCIL IN MY HEART

In my second year of university, I started learning English at the British Council. In the first days of school, I was still very shy, not confident in my English. After the time I study here, my English gradually improved, and I gradually became more confident in my English. After study here, I realised that I not only learned English, but also learned about culture and knew more knowledge in different areas. Most importantly, my soul was healed every time I came here. I also heard some students here share about this similar feeling. At that time, I was very depressed, and this place lifted my spirits. After finishing my classes, I still usually think about my time at the British Council.

In 2017, I went to study abroad in the UK to study for a master's degree. I chose the UK because after study at the British Council, I love more and more British culture and British people. When I went to Wales, everything was as I thought and even better than I imagined. Before I went to study abroad, I used to attend UK Education Fairs. I often looked up at the stage where alumni shared their experiences, and I felt admiration for them. After I returned to Vietnam, I was fortunate to be invited to be one of three alumni to share in the UK Education Fair. I participated in writing part of detailed information about Welsh universities and study life in Study in Wales Education Booklet. I also contributed one of 20 articles interviewing Vietnamese alumni who had experience of study at Welsh universities, featuring impression, emotion and experiencing about life and studying in Wales was published in the Overseas Study page of the Magazine website for "Wales in My Eyes" Series of Alumni Stories. I felt happy and proud.

Thank you to British Council, and thank you to the UK for making my life better. After returning for a few years, I did not have the opportunity to use English much. I felt very missed and afraid of forgetting English, so I decided to return to the British Council to continue my studies, and my joy has returned. I am looking forward to contributing or collaborating with the British Council in the future.
