Role overview

The British Council in Vietnam is a priority country for the British Council within East Asia. We engage with nearly 15 million people a year through activity across 3 strategic business units: Education and Society, English and Exams and the Arts. We have two centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with two additional branch teaching centres in each.

The Human Resources (HR) function in Vietnam is led by the Head of Human Resources, provides one-door HR services to the whole country which include over 200 headcounts with a large percentage of diverse non-Vietnamese staff. The HR services in Vietnam cover all HR-related functions, from job designing and evaluation, headcount planning, compensation and benefits, learning and development to performance and talent management, compliance, employee relations and regional HR initiatives.

We are recruiting an Human Resources Executive to work with the British Council in Hanoi on a one-year contract basis, supporting the full range of HR duties for staff across Vietnam, with focus on payroll, data management, recruitment and contract management. You will join an established and welcoming team, and will have the chance to grow your exposure to a wide range of HR duties in a large organisation and a diverse workforce.

Suitable applicants for this opportunity will need at least two years’ experience handling payroll and HR support within a multi-cultural working environment. A degree in a business-related field is required, as are good communication skills in Vietnamese and English.

In return for your skills and experience the British Council offers an international working environment with great career opportunities, benefits and support.
