British Council Hanoi’s main centre is the hub for our teaching operations in Hanoi. It has stunning views over West Lake, 11 state of the art classrooms, where we teach children, teens and adults in the evenings, weekends, and day times. We also deliver courses for special groups, including intensive courses sponsored by companies or partner organisations, courses to primary, secondary students at their schools. We are a 7 day a week operation. We currently have one branch in the rapidly developing “New Hanoi” west of the centre, which has 10 classrooms. In the coming years we expect to open further branches with resulting career opportunities.

Role overview
We have an enthusiastic and professional teaching team who are dedicated to delivering the best English teaching in Vietnam. We are looking for similar teachers who also meet our qualification and teaching experience to join us (see person specification in Role Profile for more details on requirements).
British Council Hanoi is a high profile Teaching Centre which is expanding to meet an ever growing number of clients and students. You will teach children, teenagers, and adults and join a team of about 40 teachers in Hanoi (about 80 in Vietnam).
As a member of the team, you will deliver high quality lessons on our full range of courses and be ready to develop your experience in all areas with highly motivated groups of Vietnamese students. We are committed to Continuing Professional Development, and we offer a full in service training programme including funding Cambridge DELTA studies, and the British Council / Trinity Young Learner Education Certificate (TYLEC). You will find further details on training in Section B below.
The Hanoi office contains the English team as well as other departments who help to fulfill the British Council’s cultural mission. There are also opportunities to get involved in projects that support local teachers, as well as other British Council programmes. It is a vibrant modern office with a variety of teaching and administration teams working together.
