What's interesting about the Explore Summer 2021 summer course?
The goals of the British Council and the Explore Summer 2021 courses are to help children develop their English skills and communicate more confidently in real-life situations.
This summer, students will explore a range of exciting and educational topics and work together to do a range of projects. Each topic reflects a 21st Century theme and was chosen to reflect the interests of our Vietnamese young learners. The engaging Explore Summer lessons and project tasks were designed exclusively for our Vietnamese young learners for this special semester.
Who are Explore Summer 2021 Summer Courses for?
The Explore Summer courses are designed for students from 5 to 17 years’ old who registered to study at the British Council:
- Learning Time with Timmy (for five-year-olds in Hanoi)
- Primary Plus
- Secondary Plus
- Upper Secondary Plus
- Secondary Plus IELTS and Academic
Learning Time With Timmy – Explore Storytelling, Arts and Crafts
Students are going to study Learning Time With Timmy. They are also going to explore storytelling and develop their reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. This will also develop their vocabulary and phonics.
For each Explore Storytelling, Arts and Crafts lesson, students are going to do projects based on stories they read. The projects involve working and playing together with other students and developing their English skills, their creativity, and their social skills.
Primary Plus and Secondary Plus – Five Explore Summer Topics
In the Explore Summer semester, Primary Plus and Secondary Plus students are going to study 2 Magazines.
Primary and Secondary Plus students are also going to explore current 21st Century global topics such as Science and Technology and the Climate Emergency.
With every topic, students are going to develop their reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. They are also going to develop their vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.
Teachers are also going to work with children to study, research, develop and deliver individual projects or group projects. This will allow students to develop and practice their English skills and also develop their creative and critical thinking skills and their teamworking.
The five main Primary Plus and Secondary Plus Explore Summer topics are:
- Explore Art, Craft and Design
- Explore the Climate Emergency
- Explore Sports and Games
- Explore Science and Technology
- Explore Speaking with Confidence
Upper Secondary Plus: Explore Sustainable Development
In the Explore Summer semester, Upper Secondary Plus students are going to study 2 Magazines.
They are also going to Explore Sustainable Development. Students are going to develop their academic reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. They are also going to develop their vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation, and speaking with confidence.
Teachers are also going to work with learners to study, research, develop and deliver projects. This will allow students to develop and practice their academic English skills, and also develop their critical thinking skills and their teamworking.
Secondary Plus IELTS and Academic
Students will study, develop confidence in, and practice key listening, reading, speaking and writing skills for IELTS. They will also study and practice grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation to enhance their IELTS proficiency.
This Summer course is focused on helping students with long-term IELTS goals or an upcoming IELTS exam date to maximize their score on the test day.
