This year, the Summer Event promises to be our biggest and best event ever with lots of fantastic activities run by our teachers, teaching assistants and partners to create a unique experience for students and parents. The event will take place on Friday 31 July in the GEM Centre; a purpose built conference centre in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.

Event theme

The theme of this summer’s project was ‘Science and technology’. Each week, the students explored a different field of science to learn about the world around them through English. By attending this event, you will be able to find out more about what they learnt and take part in some of the activities from the course.

Attendance and child protection

Up to two parents or guardians (over 18 years old) are invited to attend the event. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult. Please note that we cannot allow any more than two parents or guardians per child due to the capacity of the GEM Centre.

Time

  • Secondary students and parents or guardians: 13.00 - 15.30
  • Primary students and parents or guardians: 16.30 - 19.00

Invitation

Students will receive invitations from teachers. This will give access to a maximum of two parents or guardians at the event and will also be used to enter into the lucky prize draw. Please, make sure you bring the invitation with you to gain access to the event.

Activities for Students and Parents

The event will feature eight exciting zones for students and parents to explore: Physics Zone; Planets Zone; Biology Zone; Sponsors’ Zone; Game Zone; Science Zone; Engineering Zone; Arts Zone. In each zone, there will be interactive activities for students and parents to take part in. Students must complete eight activities to receive a special gift. After completing an activity, students will receive a stamp on their exhibition pass.

This year will be different from last year in two key ways. Firstly, parents rather than teachers will accompany children around the event as teachers and teaching assistants will be running the activities. Secondly, you will be free to visit the zones in whichever order you like rather than following a set route. If you find that an activity is very busy, please move on to the next one and come back later.

At the end of each session, there will be a spectacular closing ceremony in the Planets Zone with music and dancing plus the lucky draw to win incredible prizes from our sponsors.
