'Forest Dreams: Shaping the Future of Viet Nam’s Forests' is an event featuring an artwork about forests and forest restoration in Viet Nam. The artwork is the result of conversations between artists and scientists of the Universities of Leeds, York and Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UK) and the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences (Viet Nam).
Large areas of forest around the world, have been heavily degraded, including in Viet Nam and we need stronger actions to restore forests for the benefit of nature, people and our climate. The Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences is a leader in studying forest restoration, and in this event, scientists will share their knowledge on the status of forests and forest restoration in Viet Nam and there will be an open discussion between scientists and artists around the artwork. Our event brings to the fore the value of forests to local and global communities and the role that people can play in supporting forest recovery.
