Join our transformative initiative, empowering young climate change champions in Vietnam through STE(A)M Education. This innovative program immerses future change-makers in climate change narratives using STE(A)M education. We bring together experts from the UK and Vietnam to tackle air pollution, paving the way for a proactive response to environmental challenges.  

This two-part program fosters collaboration between academics and industry leaders, culminating in a symposium in December 2023. This event, attended by students, educators, and administrators from various high schools in Da Nang and neighbouring areas, will feature publications and engaging activities, reaching over 300 students passionate about climate change. 

How to take part 

The UK-Viet Nam educational symposium Empowering Next Generation Climate Change Champions will take place in Danang in both online and onsite formats.

The STE(A)M Education programme will have a celebration event and symposium on 10 December 2023.

14.00–17.00 Symposium: Online and Onsite in Da Nang

Online session featuring: Alan West, MBE, CEO of Exscitec Limited, experienced STEM educator with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry; Karen Western, Widening Access Officer, Brunel University London with responsibility for safeguarding;  Pham Nguyen Hoang Thịnh, CEO of STEMax, sharing the experience in running CREST Awards in Viet Nam. 

Onsite session featuring: Long Dang, PhD, VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education, experienced STEM educator; Thu Doan, MSc., Manager of Maker Innovation Space, VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education.
