It is with great pleasure that we would like to invite the parents to the British Council Summer Event for 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City. This year promises to be the biggest and best event so far with lots of fantastic activities. Each year, the British Council runs an end of year summer event to showcase the work of our students run by our teachers. For this year’s event, we have invited many of our partners to run some activities and other British Council departments to create a truly unique 5 star event.

Event Theme: 'Round the world ticket'

Attendance: Parents of British Council Young Learners and parents with invitations. Unfortunately, only one parent or guardian will be allowed entry due to the limited capacity of the venue.

Time:

  • 08.00 - 12.00: for Primary
  • 13.00 - 17.00: for Secondary

British Council Students

During the event, the students will be guided around the event in groups by British Council teachers and teaching assistants. In each room, there will be activities, all run in English, for the students to take part in and they will receive some prizes and gifts for their participation.

British Council Parents

For the parents, there will also be some activities to take part in and some great prizes to be won. These activities range from parents’ workshops, watching the summer school documentary film and visiting the summer exhibition photos. There will also be other British Council departments such as Education UK, Exams and Premier Skills and an opportunity to interact with many of our partners which include Emirates, Soul Academy, Fahasa, Vin Space, Citibank, Wildlife at Risk, Allambie Orphanage, Saigon Tourist, Oxford University Press, Family Medical Practice & Rainbow Divers.

Activities for parents

There will be some activities designed specifically for parents and you will be able to observe your child taking in part in other activities. However, due to the large numbers of students and parents present you will not be able to be with your child throughout the event. The supervision staff may ask you to move to other areas at certain times to allow the teachers and students to move around to the next activities. We will have supervision staff on duty, wearing orange T-shirts, to ensure the safety of all the participants so please listen to their instructions. We hope you enjoy the event!
