Aptis ESOL is a computer-based English language test developed by the British Council covering four skills. It is delivered in supervised face-to-face test sessions and is regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) – the body that regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England.

HOW IS THE TEST STRUCTURED?

Aptis ESOL assesses language proficiency in grammar, vocabulary, and all four English skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—at all levels from A1 to C2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).  The test starts with general questions and then progress to more demanding tasks.
