Future News Worldwide (FNW) is delivered by British Council and supported by leading media organisations: Reuters, BBC, Herald, STV, Facebook, the Google News Initiative and the UK Schools of Journalism.
Established in 2014, FNW aims to assist young people to develop a range of journalism skills and establish the UK as a global leader in nurturing young journalists. This helps build lasting international connections between the next generation of media leaders, with their connection to the UK. We will be supporting young journalists in the run up to COP26 through a range of activities including internships, workshops and commissioning of media coverage. Each successful applicant has received a grant of GBP 2000 to develop ideas under the themes of ‘Trust and Environmental Journalism’.
The project will feature young journalists and feature stories from Zimbabwe, India, Ukraine, Brazil, Ghana, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Malawi, South Korea Pakistan, Bangladesh, Armenia, Iraq, Gambia, Uganda, India, Lebanon, Thailand, Venezuela and Nepal.
