To commemorate the launching of The International School’s first scholarship programs, D’Overbroeck’s is organising The International School Olympiad, a global scholarship competition for the international school applicants. Winner of the Olympiad will get a scholarship with corresponding value as follow:
Regional round:
- Years 7–9: 20 per cent tuition fees
- Year 10: 15 per cent tuition fees
Global round:
- Winners get 10 per cent top-up on regional scholarship

As part of the school’s future-focused approach, this year d’Overbroeck’s launches The International School Olympiad, their first ever scholarships at The International School. This is a global scholarship competition for new International School applicants and is designed to enable talented students to access all the benefits of a d’Overbroeck’s education.
By launching this Olympiad and their new scholarships, the school look forward to supporting outstanding scholars to achieve their ambitions, no matter how great.
Eligible criteria
Applications for the International School Olympiad are now open until 26 March 2021 for prospective students from the following countries/regions:
Years 7–9 category: Balkan States, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Korea, Myanmar, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
Year 10 category: Balkan States, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Myanmar, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
Application process
1. Register your interest
Applications for The International School Olympiad will open from 4 January – 26 March 2021.
Students interested in applying to the Olympiad have to complete the International School application form at https://www.doverbroecks.com/international-application-form
2. Regional round
In the regional round, applicants will be invited to:
- sit entrance assessments in Maths and English
- submit a personal statement
- write a 300-word critical essay on a given topic
- have an interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team
A range of essay questions and topics will be available for applicants to choose from for their critical essay. These will be set based on their age category.
Regional winners will be announced in April and will be awarded a scholarship place at The International School for September 2021. The winners of Years 7–9 category will be awarded a 20 per cent scholarship and Year 10 category winners will be awarded a 15 per cent scholarship. These awards will apply for each year studied at The International School.
3. Global round
The regional winners will then be invited to our final global round where they will have the opportunity to win an increased scholarship. In this second round, applicants will be invited to:
- complete a task based on the theme of ‘global citizens and future leaders’
- take part in a Q&A discussion based on their response to the task
The final global winner will be awarded a 10 per cent extension to their scholarship won from the regional round.
With the International School Olympiad, outstanding scholars can achieve the recognition they deserve and benefit from an early introduction into the UK education system.
