As we reported in January, after the success of 2021’s PRELIM, a second Partnered REmote Language IMprovement project (PRELIM 2) was established between VietTESOL Association (Vietnam’s premier national teacher association) and UK language provider CELT. The prime motivation of PRELIM is to support language development and build confidence among English language teachers around the world, turning them into more confident classroom teachers.
This was certainly evident from the webinar. As one of the participating teachers (and webinar presenter) Ha Thi Nga noted after the course, 'I want to express my sincere thanks to the British Council, VietTESOL team, and our trainers who organized the course for Vietnamese teachers like us and gave us the opportunity to share about what we learnt from the course. I really appreciate this opportunity!'.
And as one of the CELT trainers, Jonathan Hadley, noted, 'It was great to hear the enthusiasm for PRELIM 2 from our teachers and to witness their confidence in sharing with a wider audience what they learned and gained from the whole experience. Looking forward to future collaborations'.
Talking of future collaborations, the British Council are currently exploring further professional development opportunities for Vietnamese teachers of English with both VietTESOL Association and CELT.
In the meantime, if you missed the webinar and would like to learn more about the PRELIM project and hear participating teachers sharing their experiences of what they learnt, you can still watch it here.
