Some 70 English language teachers from a wide range of provinces joined workshops in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in July to explore newly available classroom resources for primary and secondary learners. The resources were developed as part of a 15-month partnership between VietTESOL Association and Nottingham Trent University, funded by British Council’s global PRELIM 3 (Partnered Remote Language Improvement) Project.
Le Thi Ha, a lecturer at Lac Hong University's English faculty shared her feelings about the workshop, ‘I was really impressed with the valuable materials, their visually appealing design, and the engaging activities. I was inspired by the three speakers (Dr Catrin Egan from Nottingham Trent University and Dr Le Thi Hong Van and Dr Nguyen Van Thinh from VietTESOL Association)’.
These resources (including classroom activities, teacher notes, flashcards and audio video resources) are now publicly available for primary and secondary teachers across Viet Nam. It is very much hoped that they will inspire classroom teachers to adapt existing and create additional resources to use in lessons with their own language learners.
