Role overview
As Senior Teacher Young Learners you will be responsible primarily for the quality of YL teaching. You will work with a national and regional YL team to develop and implement new regional products. You will play an important role in the Teaching Centre management team working with the Customer Management, Sales, Marketing and Academic leads to ensure our customer have a consistently high quality experience. You will help develop relationships with local and international schools in Hanoi and will assist with the academic management (testing, syllabus design, materials sourcing, assessing, etc.) and communicate with school stakeholders.
The British Council in Hanoi delivers English to adults and young learners from multiple locations across Hanoi. We operate 7 days a week, and currently accommodate approximately 2000 young learners per term. The centre runs regular teacher training sessions and there is a strong culture of professional development amongst our teaching team. The TYLEC course is run in house for all TC teachers and funding and support is available for 4 teachers per year to take the DELTA.
British Council Hanoi is a large centre, with about 40 teachers currently on staff. The STYL would work closely with the Head of Young Learners to ensure the planned objectives and deliverables of the TC are achieved. The position requires someone who is good at multitasking and enjoys a range of different challenges from ensuring quality of delivery, AQP objectives and young learner deliverables are achieved and effectively managing a large team of young learner teachers. QitC is of prime importance for the success of the centre and the post holder would need to ensure this is a priority. The Hanoi office is also the head office for the directorate and you will find all teams in English and other SBUs working here. It is a vibrant modern office with a great variety of teaching and admin teams working together.
