The aim of the Newton PhD programme is to facilitate the capacity building of individuals, and the building of sustainable, long-lasting links between UK and overseas institutions, through PhD scholarships, placements, and partnerships.
In Vietnam, the Newton PhD programme is operated under the name of 911-Newton PhD Scholarships, being co-funded by The British Council and the Vietnam International Education Development – Ministry of Education and Training (VIED-MOET).
PHD SCHOLARSHIPS
- Funding for individual partner country students to undertake full PhD studies in the UK, or vice versa.
PHD PLACEMENTS
- Funding for individual partner country PhD students to spend a period of their study (up to one year) in the UK, or vice versa.
CALLS AND OPPORTUNITIES
The 911-Newton PhD Scholarships programme offers full-time PhD scholarships for Vietnamese researchers at a UK higher education institution in the duration of 3 years until March 2019. Guidelines for application are available in the download section.
