Swansea is a research-centred university that’s highly rated for both teaching quality and student satisfaction. 

Swansea University has recently celebrated its centenary in 2020. There are three academic faculties, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes to students from more than 100 countries. The University is research-driven and works to solve real-world problems and global challenges. Around 90% of its research is classed as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ in terms of its impact on society. 

Swansea University is ranked as a UK Top 25 University (Guardian University Guide 2022) and consistently in the top 10 for International Students (WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2012-2020). A great student experience is demonstrated by being ranked 6th for satisfied with course and 23rd for career prospects (Guardian University Guide 2022). 

Most courses offer work placements or integrated years in industry, and the award-winning Swansea Employability Academy offers free careers advice and opportunities. The University aims to offer all undergraduate students the chance to study or work overseas.  

Swansea is a friendly and welcoming university that cares for its students. It’s known for its lively social scene, with an active students’ union and 170 clubs and societies. Its two campuses are both just metres from the seafront. The city of Swansea is South West Wales’ cultural and entertainment hub, with energetic, student-friendly nightlife.
