Primary Plus is an English program for primary school students, consisting of six levels. The aim of the course is to develop children's confidence in communicating in English, while helping them to mature in life.
With the Primary Plus 3 course, equivalent to the English curriculum for grade 3 students, the British Council will help children approach social topics through useful and familiar English lessons. The curriculum in this course is divided into six separate parts, each of which is a topic revolving around social activities happening around them.
Module 1: Fun
Play is always a stimulating topic for children's learning. They will create a poster to promote a popular game at an amusement park, then use comparative structures to describe the game and their experiences with it.
Module 2: Health and Fitness
In this section, students will use imperative sentences to give requests or advice in a leaflet about self-care. Through this leaflet writing method, students will learn more vocabulary related to the body and symptoms of common diseases.
Module 3: Ocean World
After learning about the animal world in Primary Plus 1 and 2 classes, in Module 3 of Primary Plus 3, students will review comparative structures to describe marine animals, their habitats and body parts. In addition, they will have the opportunity to introduce information about their favorite marine animals based on the present simple tense in English.
After studying 2 Primary Plus classes, children have been exposed to many topics to grasp basic grammar structures and communication skills to help them excel in the process of learning English in grade 3.
Module 4: Eating out
A miniature restaurant will be set up in front of the children, with English menus designed by the children themselves. The teacher will guide some structures for ordering food, serving food and basic vocabulary so that the children can easily describe their favorite dishes. Learning English through role-playing activities like this will help children remember the lesson more deeply.
Module 5: Relaxation Time
Planning for the future, presenting about an extracurricular club are the things that take place in this Module, students will be able to use the present simple and future tense in English to talk about planned activities or clubs.
Module 6: Help
By the final level of Primary Plus 3, children will use imperative sentences to talk about a procedure or give advice on how to handle accidents and emergencies that occur in life. They can even design a poster with their own advice written in English for everyone.
Above is a brief overview of the British Council's Primary Plus 3 class, with a modern curriculum and experienced teaching staff, which will certainly give children great inspiration to start learning English and integrating into the world in the future.
