The British Council's early years teaching specialists designed Learning Time with Timmy to be fun and engaging for your child. Our approach also nurtures your child's creativity, critical thinking, and social skills as they learn English.

We have partnered with Aardman animation studios because the stories of their world-famous character Timmy, star of Timmy Time, help your child learn new words in context. Timmy and his friends will capture your child’s imagination and make learning enjoyable. This approach helps your child remember what they learn and builds a strong foundation in English

How this English course benefits your child aged 5

Your child will learn to:

  • describe, imitate and change familiar stories
  • invent stories and express them through art, drama, dance, movement, information technology and writing.
  • become more aware of their own feelings and describe them.
  • identify their abilities, and express their own preferences and opinions.
  • write recognisable letters and attempt to write short sentences.
  • grow their English vocabulary by grouping and naming objects.
  • link sounds to letters, say simple words and blend them together to read.
  • recognise numbers and count up to 20
  • count items in 2 or 3  groups, and write numbers
  • order familiar events in stories and familiar steps in everyday tasks recreate roles and experiences in play
