Secondary Plus English course: English skills for success

Our Secondary Plus English course is designed and led by the world’s English experts. This course gives teenagers the skills they need to feel confident communicating in English. Teenagers in Vietnam enjoy dynamic lessons on real-life topics and prepare for a global world.

  • Students enjoy lively speaking classes with a specialist, highly-trained teacher

How is the Secondary Plus English course taught in Vietnam? 

Expert teachers guide and support each student and use modern learning methods. We get students ready to use English in the real world, in university and in the workplace.

During the Secondary Plus course, here is how your teenager learns English:

  • Students practise the English skills they need to succeed in school exams and international university courses

How is your child’s progress assessed? 

At the British Council, we listen to your feedback because we want our learners to have a better learning experience. We provide regular feedback on your child’s progress, along with certificates of attendance and reports on their language skills. 

  • Formal and informal assessments are part of the course programme. 
  • Personalised online dashboards help you track progress together with your child. 
  • We will show you your child’s progress throughout the academic year, with a report that includes the subjects your child has studied.

We will show you your child’s progress throughout the academic year in a report with information about:

  • the magazines and the projects that your child has studied
  • an assessment of the project part of your teen's course  based on international CEFR standards
  • a graph showing the progress throughout the course.

How the learning hub helps your child’s progress

Our British Council learning hub is a secure online platform. It is designed to help your child study independently, at their own pace, before and after class. This means class time is focused on improving their English-speaking and practical skills. Children can also enjoy extra learning activities guided by their teacher, and parents can access data on their progress. Find out more in our Parent Centre.

Be yourself and build confidence in an inclusive learning environment 

Our inclusive learning environment provides a space for you to be yourself: 

  • you will be in a class with students who are a similar age to you, with students who are a similar age to you, with a similar level of English skills.
  • your teacher will give you plenty of opportunities to express your opinions openly. This is to help you gain confidence in speaking English 
  • we put your well-being first. We have robust measures in place to ensure you are kept safe.

Technical requirements for the learning hub

The British Council learning hub can be accessed using a desktop computer, laptop or tablet. We do not recommend using a mobile phone. We want to make sure all our students enjoy a quality learning experience.
