Community Cultural Heritage, under the Heritage of Future Past project, has almost reached a two-year landmark engaging with communities of heritage bearers.
- 18 months of implementation
- four localities (Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Ninh Thuan and Ho Chi Minh City)
- three types of cultural heritage: The gong culture of the Bahnar people, Cham performance music and the Vietnamese southern folk music genre cai luong
- about 800 direct participants
- nearly 30,000 attendees.
Before working on the two-year recap video, four other short films captured and documented project activities in four different localities where different types of cultural heritage are practised and need to be protected, preserved and promoted - gong culture of the Bahnar people, Cham performance music and the Vietnamese southern folk music genre cai luong. The two-year recap video paints a vivid overview, from the initial implementation stage to the challenges, obstacles and solutions to the project, with sharing and views from cultural experts, consultants - especially the great efforts of the project implementation team.
A portion of the film capturing the journey in ensuring that communities of heritage bearers benefit from more in-depth and community-based efforts towards a broader goal of safeguarding and promoting their cultural heritage will be introduced in this film.
The film was shot by We Create Content in Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Ninh Thuan provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.
